Bodegas Comenge is located in Ribera del Duero, a Spanish wine-growing region known for Tempranillo, which is called Tinta del País here. The winery processes only wines from Tempranillo grapes of its own vineyards. Comenge Reserva is a unique wine that is produced only in special years. The grapes are hand-picked, then completely destemmed manually on the sorting table and then fermented in concrete tanks on their own yeast and aged in 100% new French oak barriques.
It presents itself profoundly in the nose and gradually unfolds a variety of aromas: black fruits, plums, cassis, chocolate, herbs and a clear mineral note. On the palate it shows excellent acidity and proves to be pleasantly fresh, with a round, wide body. It impresses with velvety tannins, a delicious fruit ripeness and a dense, concentrated and delicate texture.
This wine tastes great in combination with red meat and spicy dishes.
